The Kitz Terms & Conditions
The Kitz Luxury Cat Hotel is licenced to house 40 cats. The welfare of these cats is our priority. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the health and wellbeing of all the cats, they are boarded entirely at their owner’s risk.
Please take time to read these Terms and Conditions. By making a booking at The Kitz Luxury Cat Hotel, you are confirming that you understand and agree to the Terms and Conditions, even if the form is not signed.
HEALTH & WELFARE
All cats staying at The Kitz must have valid proof, i.e. the cat’s vaccination card, of being fully vaccinated for feline calicivirus, feline herpesvirus (flu) and feline panleukopenia (enteritis) - this is an annual vaccination requirement.
The vaccination card will be retained by The Kitz and returned on collection of the cat. The Kitz reserves the right to refuse admission if the cat/s up-to-date cards are not available on arrival.
It is now law that owned cats are microchipped. Please provide your cat’s microchip number on the booking form.
A visual health check will be carried out on your cat/s arrival. The proprietor of The Kitz reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of infectious disease. Cats that are not fully vaccinated will be refused admission.
We request all cats are up-to-date with flea and worm treatments. Any cat found to be carrying fleas, or a worm infestation, will be treated with a good quality product but The Kitz will not be liable for any reactions caused as a result of the product used. The cost of the product will be added to the final bill.
In the case of suspected illness, consent is given for a vet to be contacted and the cat examined and investigations performed, if required. You will be asked to sign the medical consent form to give a member of The Kitz team consent to take your cat/s to the vet, if veterinary treatment/advice is required. The owner of the cat will be liable for treatment costs. Un-neutered cats and cats under 6 months old will not be boarded, due to welfare grounds.
In case of illness, the owner’s vet practice will be contacted in the first instance, depending on the circumstances. If euthanasia is recommended for humane reasons, then the owner will contacted prior to this, and then the emergency contact, if owner is unavailable.
If medication needs to be administered, and has been prescribed by a vet, this must be provided with clear instructions and original packaging. A separate medication consent form will also be required to be completed. Please inform The Kitz management of any medical history that may affect the cat’s stay at The Kitz, including pre-existing or recurring medical conditions.
A variety of wet and dry food is provided, with fresh water at all times, and every attempt will be made to provide your cat with the preferred brand, but we cannot hold every type of food. Special prescription diets must be provided by the owner. Please note, no discount is given if own food is provided. Please discuss dietary requirements at the time of booking
If the cat’s stay is longer than three weeks, they will be checked for weight loss or gain. If any concerns, advice will be sought from their vet.
To make your cat’s stay comfortable, everything is provided to meet their needs, including beds, bowls, litter trays, also toys and scratching posts for enrichment. If you would like to bring a bed or blanket, so your cat has something familiar, please do.
The pens are kept at an ambient temperature, according to the weather.
If your cat has any special requirements, particularly mobility issues, or has any recent health conditions, please inform The Kitz team prior to their stay, to ensure the cats needs are met during their stay.
Although a high standard of care and hygiene is always maintained, the cats are boarded at entirely the owner’s risk. The Kitz cannot accept liability for loss, disease, illness or death of cats that may occur during boarding.
ARRIVING AT THE CATTERY
Cats to be dropped off and collected at allotted appointment times in a suitable and secure pet travel carrier, which must be left at the cattery for the cat’s stay.
Any belongings are left at owners’ risk.
Collars will be removed for the cat’s stay, for safety reasons.
Please do not touch other visiting cats in the cattery, this is to protect the cats from risk of cross contamination.
Only multiple cats from the same household will be accommodated together, in a suitable size pen. However, if the sharing cats need to be separated for any reason, the proprietor has the right to separate the cats and the owner will be charged accordingly, for extra space.
Boarding rates are charged as a daily rate, including arrival and collection days. Full payment is required at the end of the cat’s stay and there is no discount if the cat is collected early, and this is due to occupancy levels and the associated costs.
Payment by BACS or cash please, on presentation of the invoice.
Please inform management as soon as possible in the event that you are going to be delayed in arriving with, or collecting your cat, as it cannot be guaranteed that we can accommodate your cat for any extra days. Please consider alternative arrangements and arrange for someone to collect your cat if you are unable to, and inform us immediately of their details.
If a cat is not collected within 14 days of the departure date of their booked stay, and is has not been possible for The Kitz Luxury Cat Hotel to make contact with the owner or their emergency contact, then The Kitz reserves the right to rehome or find the cat alternative care, or ownership.
In case of emergency and it not being safe to house the cats, emergency policies will be put into practice and emergency contacts may need to be contacted.
Please be aware CCTV is used for security on site and only used by The Kitz staff. The Kitz is fully insured through Clivertons, and full details can be made available upon request.
Full policy and procedure documents are available on request.
If your cat has an underlying health condition, please consider as to whether the cattery environment is the right place for them.
